Vagabond's mission in past years
The polar yacht Vagabond, moored off the coast of Qikiqtarjuaq (Nunavut, Canada) has been collaborating with the Green Edge researchers since the very beginning of the project. Éric Brossier, captain of Vagabond, provides essential support for the Green Edge Project and is one of the pillars of the ice camp.

2014
Since 2014, the Vagabond has been working alongside Green Edge Project researchers. In February, research equipment arrived in Qikiqtarjuaq, thus permitting the crew of the polar research yacht, our scientific collaborators, to start their scientific experiments.

2015
In February 2015, during their second winter in Qikiqtarjuaq, Éric Brossier and France Pinczon du Sel, along with their daughters Leonie and Aurore, continued living aboard “Le Vagabond” in the sea ice. That was the family’s fourth winter in Nunavut. Their first two winters were spent in the ice off Grise Fiord .
The scientific program included a study of the algal bloom for Takuvik. In the framework of the Green Edge Project research equipment was actually shipped to Qikiqtarjuaq, thus permitting the Takuvik team to conduct scientific experiments from March to July 2015. The local newspaper published a paper about Eric and France’s activities.
2016
During the 2016 field season, Éric Brossier will continue to play a major role in the construction and organization of the experimental campaign in Qikiqtarjuaq, providing logistical, security and scientific support.
